Youngstown SteelHounds

The Youngstown Steel Hounds were an American ice hockey team from Youngstown, Ohio, who from 2005 to 2008 in the CHL, a North American minor league played.

History

Since its inception, the team wore its home games at the 5,700 -seat Chevrolet Centre, the first win was on 4 November 2005 with a 4-3 victory over the Oklahoma City Blazers. At the end of the first season, the team took second place in the Northeast Division.

The name derives from the Steel Hounds Youngstown dominant in the past and present steel industry, owner of the team was Herb Washington. As a coach acted Kevin Kaminski, the post of General Manager took Joe Gregory. The main food of the mascot Crusher were beef and crab, an allusion to the league rivals Fort Worth Brahmas and Bossier - Shreveport Mudbugs.

Due to several violations of the statutes of the Central Hockey League franchise on 2 June 2008 was officially excluded from playing this.
