Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees were an American ice hockey team from Hidalgo, Texas. The team played since the 2003/ 04 season in the Central Hockey League.
History
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees were founded in 2003 as a franchise of the Central Hockey League. In its inaugural season, the team qualified second in the Southeast Division immediately for the playoffs for the Miron Cup, in which they, however, already in their first round future champion Laredo Bucks subject in the best- of-three series with a sweep. Her biggest success reached the Killer Bees with the second playoff round reached in the 2008/09 season, in which they, as in 2004 the later master documents after a victory over the Corpus Christi IceRays with a sweep. This time lost Rio Grande against the Texas Brahmas. After the season 2011/ 12, the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees stopped the game operation.
