Fort Worth Brahmas

The Fort Worth Brahmas are an American ice hockey team from North Richland Hills, Texas. The team was founded in 1997 has been playing the 2001/ 02 season in the Central Hockey League, but was reported for the 2013/14 season as inactive.

History

The Fort Worth Brahmas were established in 1997 as a franchise of the Western Professional Hockey League, where they played until its merger with the Central Hockey League after the 2000/ 01 season. Her greatest success in the WPHL was reaching the third playoff round in the 1998/99 season, in which they were subject to the San Angelo Outlaws in the best- of-seven series with 2:4 victories. After they were changed in the CHL, the Brahmas reached although at first the playoffs, however, eliminated in the first round with 1:3 victories against eventual champion Memphis RiverKings from. Then succeeded the team not to reach the playoffs and the team introduced for the 2006/07 season playing mode one after they were unable to prematurely withdraw from their contract with the Fort Worth Convention Center itself.

In the summer of 2007, the franchise returned under its current name Texas Brahmas back in the CHL and immediately reached the third playoff round, where they were subject to the Colorado Eagles. The following year, the Brahmas were transferred to the Southeast Division, which they won straight away. In the subsequent playoffs they succeeded after victories over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, Odessa Jackalopes and Colorado Eagles opponents last year for the first time winning the Ray Miron President's Cup. For the 2012/13 season, the team returned to the original name Fort Worth Brahmas.
