Nashville Ice Flyers

The Nashville Ice Flyers were an American ice hockey team from Nashville, Tennessee. The team played from 1996 to 1998 in the Central Hockey League.

History

The team was founded in 1996 under the name Nashville Nighthawks as a franchise of the Central Hockey League. Her premiere season, the 1996/97 season, they finished in fifth and thus last place of the Eastern Division. From 66 games, they won only twelve and took a total of 26 points. For the following season the leaders changed the name of the franchise in Nashville Ice Flyers and increased markedly under her coach David Lohrei to 92 points in 70 games. With the second place in the Eastern Division, they qualified for the playoffs for the Miron Cup, where they after a sweep in the best- of-three series on the Huntsville Channel Cats in the second round of the late Bankrupts champion Columbus Cottonmouths in Best - of-seven series with 2:4 victories documents.
