Baierdorf in Anger is a municipality with 1633 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Styria. On 1 January 2015 it is affiliated under the Styrian municipality structural reform with the market town of Anger, the new community will continue to bear the name of Anger.

Geography

Baierdorf in Anger is located in the district of Weiz in the Austrian province of Styria. There are no other cadastral except Baierdorf. The highest point in the municipality is of the raven forest mountain ( 1280 m above sea level. A. ).

The municipality comprises the three villages (in brackets population as of 31 October 2011):

  • Baierdorf environment ( 948 )
  • Fresen (470 )

History

The name of the village leads back to the colonization by the Bavarians. From about 1100 to 1500, the area belonged to the noble family of Stubenberger based in Neuberg and Altschielleiten. As a result, the majority of the municipality until 1785 subject to the Canons reserved by. On March 17, 1849, the present church was established.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 June 1983.
