Beernem is a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish region. It is located in the province of West Flanders and belongs to Arrondissement Bruges. The municipality comprises the three villages Beernem Oedelem and Sint- Joris.

Beernem is located 24 km south of the Belgian coast. Bruges is located 11 km northwest, Gent 30 km southeast of Brussels and 80 km southeast.

The place has a motorway to the A10 / E 40 and a regional railway station on the line Ostend - Bruges - Beernem - Ghent - Brussels; Bruges and Ghent are the nearest railway stations and offers international connections.

At the east end there is a regional airport near the capital Brussels International Airport.
