Belgium national football team

The Belgian national football team is the football selection of Western European state of Belgium. The biggest success of the " Red Devils " Belgian team were called the Olympic gold medal in 1920 and the 4th place at the World Cup 1986.

History

The Belgian national team had its first heyday in the early 20 's of the 20th century, when it was Olympic champion in Antwerp and also one of the few European teams participated in the first World Cup in Uruguay. Only in the 1970s and 1980s, Belgium was able to return to these successes. The name Red Devil comes from the year 1906 when a football reporter said that the Belgians would play like devils in red shirts.

The team failed last place in the qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup and Euro 2008.
