Bohdalín

Bohdalín ( German: Bohdalin, also Bochdalin ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is situated 18 kilometers north of Jindřichův Hradec and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Bohdalín extends below the pond Fýfar on Bohdalínský creek to the south of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. Northeast of the town Chválkov runs the narrow gauge railway line Jindřichův Hradec - Obrataň whose next stop is in Včelnička.

Neighboring towns are Benešov in the north, Dráchov and Nová Ves in the northeast, Včelnička in the east, Bukovka in the south, Betlem in the southwest, Mirotin in the west and Dvořiště in the northwest.

History

Was first documented " Bohdalovo pole" in 1379 in the land register of the Rosenbergs goods, previously it was owned by the Malovci of Lišov. 1610 the village belonged Václav Vencelík of Vrchoviště, who lost his property because of his participation in the uprising after the Battle of White Mountain. 1623 bought the Spaniard Enrique Paradys of Eskaide the rule Choustník and divided them in the reigns Kamenice and Černovice, where Bohdalín came to Černovice. Of the Paradys the Talmberger inherited the property. In 1680 a plague epidemic broke out.
