Booby Island (Queensland)

Booby Iceland is a small island in the Torres Strait and belongs administratively to Queensland, Australia. The island is located 23 kilometers west of Prince of Wales Island, and 45 kilometers north-west of Cape York Peninsula at the western entrance of the Torres Strait. Since the passage of this water body is extremely difficult sank here in the 19th century, numerous ships. 1896 Finally, a 18 -meter high lighthouse was built.

The name has Booby Iceland by the booby birds (English Booby ).
