Gabba Island (Queensland)

Called Gabba Iceland also Gerbar Iceland, Iceland Gebara or Two Brothers Iceland, is an uninhabited Australian island in the center of the archipelago of the Torres Strait Islands. The closest inhabited island Yam is located 19 km southeast.

The sparsely vegetated, rocky island stands out in places more than 100 meters from the fringing reef surrounding it. Gabba Iceland is almost three kilometers long ( east to west ) and up to 1,500 feet wide.

Two kilometers to the south are the Mourilyan Reef and, in the narrow shipping channel between the reef and Gabba Iceland, some hazardous for shipping rocks.

Administratively, the island is one of the central islands, an island region in the municipality of Torres Shire of Queensland.
