Crab Island (Queensland)
, Also called Crab Moent Iceland Iceland is an Australian island in the far southwest of the Torres Strait Islands. It is located 1.4 kilometers from Slade Point, a cape on the north west coast of the Cape York Peninsula.
The island consists of two equal-sized greater power peninsulas connected by a 100 meters wide and 580 meters long Spit. The shape of the twin island is reminiscent of an open to the coast crab claw.
The island is the most important nesting area of the Barrier Reef Turtle. In addition, the hawksbill and the olive ridley turtle are found.
Administratively, the uninhabited island is one of the Inner Islands, an island region in the municipality of Torres Shire of Queensland.
