Deliverance Iceland, in German as in the local Kaiwau Kala Kawa Ya- language Warul called "redemption island ", with the German meaning " Turtle Island ", is a small uninhabited island in the Torres Strait Islands. It is located about 34 km south of the coast of the western Papua New Guinea and 162 kilometers north-west of Cape York Peninsula, but is part of the Australian state of Queensland. The closest inhabited island is 68 km north- westernmost island Boigu. The closest island at all is the 7.5 km further south islet Kerr Islet.

Deliverance Islet extends over a length of 1700 meters and is more than 470 meters wide. The fully wooded, narrow island is surrounded by a watt -like shallow water area, which is dominated by brown algae and green algae. In addition, there is some seaweed, but only low coral cover. The island is home with their environment, two internationally important populations of sea turtles. She is one of the largest colonies of flatback turtles.
