Highway 49 in British Columbia is the western portion of the Northern Woods and Water Route. The highway leads to the east of Dawson Creek to the province of Alberta border, where it continues as Highway 49.


The Highway begins in Dawson Creek as a branch of Highway 2 in the form of a roundabout. East of the town is the airport of Dawson Creek, passes on its north side of the highway. After 16 km, the province limit is reached to Alberta, first community is then behind the border of Bay Tree, the Highway leads then to Spirit River.
