The Highway 8 in British Columbia provides an east -west connection between Highway 1, the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 5, the Coquihalla Highway, dar. The highway begins in the east in the center of Merritt and ends west in Spences Bridge. The highway has a length of 69 km and runs largely along the Nicola River until it empties into the Thompson River.

Route

In Merritt several highways meet: Sun Highway 5A and Highway 97C leads from the east coming into the church. Highway 5A turns in the town center to the north, Highway 97C continues westward. From this intersection Highway 8 mitausgezeichnet on the route from Highway 97C. Over a distance of four kilometers, the double award takes place, then Highway 97C turns north, Highway 8 runs to the west. This bifurcation is between Merritt and Lower Nicola. The highway follows the Nicola River to its mouth in the Thompson River. From there, the highway runs along the eastern bank of Thompson Rivers until the Highway on the southern edge of Spences Bridge on Highway 1 encounters and thus ends.
