Burgbernheim

Burgbernheim is a city in Middle Franconia district of Neustadt an der Aisch -Bad Windsheim and office of the Management Community Burgbernheim. The town is a nationally recognized resort.

Geographical Location

Burgbernheim is located at the eastern foot of the Franks height and at the SW edge of the Windsheimer bay. In the field of Schwebheim ( district ), the Aisch at a parking lot of B rises 13 About the Franks height passes the European watershed between the Danube and the Rhine. History

  • 741/742: First mention. Franconia Duke Carloman equips the diocese of Würzburg newly formed extensive Zehntrechten from, amongst others, the Krongutsbezirk Berenheim whose centerpiece was a royal court.
  • 1000: Emperor Otto III. gives the Bishop of Wurzburg Castle and village of Ber (s) home with the associated forest.
  • 1280: With the acquisition of the Bailiwick Bernheim by Burggraf Friedrich III. of Nuremberg, the city came under the rule of the Bailiwick Zollern - but the bishop remains feudal lord. Around this time the place was first mentioned Burgbernheim. A distinction of the Bernheim am Main ( Main Bernheim ) was necessary!
  • 1385: The Zollern share their possessions in the Oberland of Kulmbach and the lowlands of Ansbach.

  • 1528: Margrave George the Pious introduces the Lutheran doctrine.
