Caldiero

Caldiero is a Northeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7552 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Verona in the Veneto region. The community is located about 14.5 miles from Verona. South of Caldiero flows the Adige. The municipality is part of the Unione Comunale detta Verona Est.

History

As caldarium already known in Roman times as a settlement, it was above all the warm springs that were tightening point. 1805, 1809 and 1813, it came here to battles between the Austrians and Napoleon.

Economy and Transport

The municipality is located in the wine region Arcole. Through the community, not only the Autostrada A4 runs in east-west direction from Turin to Trieste, but also the former Strada Statale 11 Padana Superiore from Verona to Vicenza. A train station is on the railway line Milano - Venezia.
