Candasnos

Candasnos is a municipality in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon in Spain. It is located in the comarca of Bajo Cinca.

History

The place was the monastery Sigena passed in 1188 by King Alfonso II of Aragon, which sent settlers in 1217. 1257 gave King James I of Aragon Candasnos Raimund Borja fief.

Economy

In agriculture today dominates the cultivation of maize, sunflower and Halfagras. In the livestock are especially pigs, sheep and poultry of importance.

  • The parish church of the Assumption of Mary (Romanesque with Gothic conversions).
  • The hermitages of San Bartolomé and Nuestra Señora del Pilar.
  • Bronze Age and Iron Age finds in Valdeladrones, Tozal de los Regallos and Cabeza de la Vieja.
