Sopeira

Sopeira is a Catalan-speaking, the Franja de Aragón associated municipality in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon in Spain. It is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees in the comarca Ribagorza on the N-230 road mostly west of the reservoirs Embalse de Escales (Catalan Pantà de Escales ) and Embalse de Sopeira dammed river Noguera Ribagorzana. In Sopeira the Romanesque monastery of Santa María de Alaón is (Catalan Santa Maria de Alao ). In the east, surrounds the place, the Serra de Sant Gervás (1352 m) and to the west of the Tallón d' Aulet ( 1,486 m ).
