Villanova, Ribagorza

Villanova ( Aragonese Bilanoba, Billanoba in the local dialect Benasques ) is a municipality in the province of Huesca in the autonomous community of Aragon in Spain. It is located in the comarca of Ribagorza middle of the Pyrenees on the river Ésera in the Valley of Benasque. Villanova known as a Benasques Catalan- Aragonese transitional dialect is spoken as in Benasque.

The economy of the municipality was originally coined for agriculture. Since that time, around 1980, tourism has taken through the opening of the resort Cerler a strong upswing.
