Caramanico Terme

Caramanico Terme is a comune of the Italian province of Pescara in the Abruzzo region and seat of the Comunità Montana della Maiella Mountain Community e del Morrone.

Geography

Caramanico Terme is located in Majella National Park, about 650 meters above sea level on a hill at the foot of the Majella massif, between the valleys of the river Orta and its tributary Orfento. The provincial capital is located about 50 km east of Pescara on the Adriatic coast and has an airport.

Tourism

Caramanico Terme lives from tourism. In the park are the hot springs. They were opened in 1901. The spring water contains sulfur and is used for spa treatments, inhalations and mud treatments. In addition Caramanico is the starting point for walks in the Majella National Park. The next tour takes you through the canyon of the valley of the river Orfento.

By car to get to Roccamorice and walk to the nearby chapel in a canyon of l' Hermitage of San Bartolomeo. In winter, ski tourists come.
