Cesare Del Cancia

Cesare Del Cancia ( born May 6, 1915 in Buti, † April 25, 2011 in Pontedera ) was an Italian cyclist.

Cesare Del Cancia was a professional cyclist from 1935 to 1941 and after the Second World War again in 1946, but could not succeed. The biggest success of his career was his victory at Milan - Sanremo 1937.

1936 won Del Cancia Milan -Turin and the race Tre Valli Varesine, the 1938 Giro del Lazio. At the Giro d' Italia in 1937, he won a stage and finished fifth overall, in 1938, he wore the pink jersey for eight days, won two stages and finished seventh overall, in 1939, he finished eighth.

As Cesare Del Cancia died in April 2011 at the age of 95 years, he was the oldest living winner of the Maglia Rosa.
