Christina Simon

Ina Wolf ( born October 9, 1954 in Lochau / Vorarlberg, born Christina Ganahl, later known as Christina Simon ) is an Austrian singer and songwriter.

Previous years and participation in the Euro Vision Song Contest

Ina Wolf was the mid-1970s under the name Christina Simon part of the new, young, Austrian music scene in Vienna. With colleagues such as Wilfried, Peter Cornelius, Marianne Mendt, Rain Fendrich, Alexander Goebel, Erika Pluhar, André Heller, Franz Morak, and many others, she worked on numerous records and television productions. In 1977 she moved with her future husband, the Viennese musician Peter Wolf, the USA, returned for guest appearances several times to Vienna ( Theater an der Wien) and Berlin ( Theater of the West), where she participated in the musicals Jesus Christ Superstar and Mayflower as well as at the Vienna Burgtheater in Mandragora.

In 1979, she was internally selected by the ORF to represent Austria at the Euro Vision Song Contest 1979 in Jerusalem. That its intended song today in Jerusalem was composed by Peter Wolf and written by André Heller. At the competition itself, they had no success, with five points - four from Italy and one from the UK - they ended up together with the Belgian representative in last place among 19 participants. The song was released on German and English (as Jerusalem) as a single, but could not place in the charts themselves.

After the competition and international years

In 1979 she married Peter Wolf in California. Under the name of Wolf & Wolf and later Vienna published three albums for Ina Wolf wrote the lyrics and the lead singer was. From now on, she worked under the name Ina Wolf as text -author with her husband. Her biggest success as a songwriter she had with the Starship hit Sara, who was successful worldwide, reaching number one in the U.S. in the charts.

Returning to Austria

In 1994, the couple Wolf returned to Austria and settled in divorce it. As a singer she expressed her passion for jazz expression and started a jazz project ( Ina Wolf & Band ). Performances have taken her apart from Austria to Germany and Switzerland.

Ina Wolf continues to serve as a text writer for various artists at home and abroad, such as for Aleesha, Star Mania, Preluders, Joana Zimmer, Thomas Anders or Nathalia.
