Connecticut wine

Viticulture in Connecticut called viticulture in the U.S. state of Connecticut. According to Us- American law of each State and each county is a protected designation of origin by definition and does not need to be recognized by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as such.

Location

The coastal areas of the state near the Long Iceland Sound and the valley of the Connecticut River are climatically most favorable for viticulture.

History

Although settled early and with a busy start with the wine in 1788, the modern viticulture only begins in 1978 with the goodbye of the Connecticut Winery Act.
