Coral Terrace is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Miami -Dade County in the U.S. state of Florida with 24,376 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Coral Terrace adjacent to the cities of West Miami, Coral Gables and Miami, as well as to the CDPs Westchester and Glenvar Heights.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 24,376 inhabitants distributed to 8,162 households. The population density was 2738.9 inh. / Km ². 94.9 % of the population were white, 1.6% African American, 0.1% Native American and 0.6 % Asian Americans. 1.6% were members of other ethnic groups and 1.3% in different ethnic groups. 88.6 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 44.7 % of all households lived in 34.7 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 77.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 3.08 and the average family size is 3.30 people.

20.0 % of the population were younger than 20 years, 24.2% were 20-39 years old, 28.3 % were 40-59 years old and 27.5 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 44 years. 47.9 % of the population were male and 52.1% female.

The average annual income was $ 50,548, while 12.3 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 14.11% of the population spoke Spanish 85.18 % and 0.71 % had a different mother tongue.
