Corcelles-Ferrières

Corcelles - Ferrieres is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Corcelles - Ferrieres is located at an altitude of 220 m above sea level, about 16 km west of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the gently undulating countryside between the rivers of Doubs in the south and Ognon in the north, in the valley of the Ruisseau de Recologne.

The area of ​​2.25 km ² municipal area includes a section south of the Ognon. The area is slightly undulating and mainly consisted of arable and meadow land, and there are also some forest areas. From southwest to northeast, it is of the Talung the Ruisseau de Recologne (also Ruisseau du Breuil ) crosses that gets above the village by the Ruisseau de Lantenne from the left inflow and ensures the drainage to Ognon. History

The origin of Corcelles- Ferrieres is a company founded in the 12th century Cistercian Monastery, around which a settlement developed gradually. The village government was up to the monastery, but also had the Lords of Corcondray rights over Corcelles. In the war of Henry IV against the Spaniards in 1595, the monastery was occupied and looted the village and set on fire. The monastic estates were given to noble families of the region and in 1790 owned by the state in the sequence. Together with the Franche -Comté came Corcelles- Ferrieres with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Since 2001 Corcelles- Ferrieres is a member of the Association of Municipalities Communauté de communes du Val Saint- Vitois.

Attractions

The village church of Corcelles- Ferrieres was originally developed from the former monastery church from the 12th century, but has since been restored several times and changed. Parts of the convent buildings are also obtained. From the 18th century comes Lavoir. The old town is characterized by various houses from the 17th to the 19th century in the characteristic style of the Franche -Comté.

Population

With 188 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Corcelles- Ferrieres is one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1906, 96 people were still counted ), a strong population growth has been recorded since the mid-1970s again. Since then, the population has tripled.

Economy and infrastructure
