Dwight King

Dwight King ( born July 5, 1989 in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since May 2009, with the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League under contract on their farm team, the Manchester Monarchs, playing in the American Hockey League. His older brother D. J. is also a professional hockey player.

Career

King came on the Beardy 's Blackhawks in 2005 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes, for whom he played until 2009 in the Western Hockey League. During this time he had been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the fourth round at 107th position by the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.

After finishing his junior career, he signed in May 2009, his first professional contract with the Kings and ran from the 2009/10 season for their farm teams. Manchester Monarchs in the American Hockey League and the Ontario Reign of the ECHL, on From the autumn of 2010, he was then finally a regular for the Monarchs and was in the course of the season 2010/11 also his NHL debut for Los Angeles.

Internationally

King represented the Team Canada Western at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge in 2005 and 2006. In 2005, he won the team gold medal, but remained no points and received no penalty minutes in six missions. A year later he recorded five assists in as many games and came up with six penalty minutes.
