Estorf, Stade

Estorf ( Low German Esdörp ) is a municipality in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Oldendorf - gates of heaven, which has its headquarters in the town gates of heaven.

It consists of the districts Estorf, Gräpel and Behrste.

Geography

The municipality is located in the western part of the Stade at the Oste. To the north it borders the municipality of Kranenburg and the place is located Brobergen. To the east lies the town Oldendorf.

In the south and west are the places Elmerheide, Elm, Low Ochtenhausen, Ottendorf and Ostendorf, belonging to Bremervörde. In the East Village, the community reaches the only area in the county next to a part Brobergens on the left bank of the river Oste.

History

With one of the largest ports in Europe Gräpel stack Busch offered to wide regional offices around the 1960s bargee a wintering area. The local boatmen association maintains the memory of the days when Ewer and barges nor the supply of the region took over. Even today, some inland captains living in the place.

Incorporations

The formerly independent communities Gräpel and Behrste were merged on 1 July 1972 in the course of municipal reform in Lower Saxony with the community Estorf.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 21 September 1973 by the council and approved by the district of Stade, on 17 December 1973.

Blazon: " Split of green and silver; a silver front, diagonally right abgehauener inclined tree trunk with two Aststümpfen on each side, behind a green Grapen with three silver bands, about two crossed, outward -looking, green horse heads. "

The right panel shows the coat of arms of the Lords of Estorf, which has also previously been run by the community as Estorf crest. The Grapen relation to a canting symbol on the come to Estorf former municipality Gräpel that has this sign also shown in other colors than just a coat of arms. The crossed horse heads are available for the former municipality Behrste, most of which still exists today from old thatched Lower Saxon farmhouses.

Economy and infrastructure

Tourism

Gräpel is right on the Oste and is a frequent destination for cyclists and anglers. Even Father's Day tours to Graepler Gasthof Plate directly on Osteufer are very popular. There, at the end of Father's Day there will be a celebration with depending on weather conditions up to several thousand participants. At the inn is also the hand- operated by the innkeeper barge ferry across the river Oste, which is part of Deutsche Fährstraße.

Traffic

Through the community, the county road 114, which has in Himmelspforten connection to the highway 73 towards Stade and Hamburg and at Elm junction with the road to Bremervörde 74 runs. From Gräpel from the county road leads 82 Brobergen direction. Traffic with the left side of the Oste is only sporadically in the summer on the small Graepler flatboat ferry or by including the fixed Ostebrücke in Bremervörde.

Long term, the construction of the federal highway 22 at Estorf is planned over.

Education

In Estorf is a primary school. Secondary schools are the school center Oldendorf for elementary and secondary school as well as the Vincent -Lübeck High School in Stade and high school Bremervörde. The former branch of the primary school in Gräpel was abandoned and now houses a kindergarten.
