Kranenburg is a municipality in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony on the River Oste.

Geography
Community structure
It consists of the villages Kranenburg and Brobergen and is part of the velvet municipality Oldendorf.
The community part Kraneburg today 546 Brobergen 226 inhabitants (each at 31 December 2003).
Both places are right the Oste, but a part of the community with the " Hollander courts " is to the left of the Oste, which, apart from the newly established through the construction of the Oste barrage Osteinsel, the only inhabited, the left side of the Oste preferred area of the district Stade is.

In the course of municipal reform the church Brobergen was incorporated on 1 July 1972.

A particular political issue was the construction of wind farms between Kranenburg, Brobergen and Oldendorf.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on June 2, 1983 by the county.
Blazon: " Split and divided the front; front top in silver three blue lace, front down split of red and silver by battlements section in the back of a silver green oblique wave beams. "
Basis of the new coat of arms are the arms of the noble family of Brobergen that already in the 12th century held their seat here, but is now extinct ( the community Brobergen in whose territorial capacity succession, it led since March 31, 1948), as well as the coat of arms also noble family of Marschalck who is resident in the manor Hutloh in Hechthausen today. The Brobergen led by their tribe in a red coat of arms with three battlements of silver split shield. The still " thriving" family coat of arms of Marschalck shows three blue peaks in a silver shield. The Green points to the location of the municipality Kranenburg in the Ostemarsch. The wave bar indicates the former ancestral seats of the two noble families left or right of the Oste, the current municipality of Kranenburg / Brobergen.
