Hardhöhe (Nuremberg U-Bahn)

The underground station Fürth Hardhöhe (abbreviation: HF) is the 41th Metro Station of the Nuremberg U- Bahn and was opened on 8 December 2007. It is 910 meters from Fuerth Hospital Metro Station, the terminus of the line U1. At the railway station, long toward water south followed by a double track, reversible, west facing, the two main lines were maintained and used as stabling for two two-car train. The subway station was named incurred after the end of the fifties district of Fürth Hardhöhe in whose center it lies.

Location

The station is located in the district of Fürth Hardhöhe and extends below the ground in east -west orientation in a slight right turn under the Komotauer road between Leibnitz and Soldnerstraße. Both platform heads lead outputs directly to the surface. An elevator connects the western platform head with the Komotauer road. A long-term extension of the U1 to the planned Metro Station Kieselbühl is provided to the west of the hardware level, at present, however, a realization is very unlikely.

Building and Architecture

Construction work on the 187 m long station began on 28 June 2005 and were carried out in an open design in mixed- in-place process with subsequent capping of the excavation.

For the architectural design of a design competition was launched by the design faculty of the Georg- Simon- Ohm University Nuremberg, the student Dong Guanni won. With the help of the professors Ethelbert Hörmann and Ortwin Michl, and the architect Werner Kittel from the Civil Engineering Department Nuremberg was her design to commemorate the production of mirrors in Fuerth, realized. The station is served by five domes and the glassed-in elevator with natural light and looks very bright, the platform walls are not covered in contrast to the attached mirror blades, the ceiling is painted blue. On the platform provided a blanket with colorful patterns folded plate is attached, which reflects the incident light in the mirror slats. Depending on the position on the platform, the viewer sees a different color pattern.

The station is serviced by the U1 line. There is a stop of the bus route 171 and night bus N9 on the surface.
