Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi ( German Helsinki football club), internationally known as HJK Helsinki, is a Finnish football club from the capital Helsinki. HJK is the only club in Europe, both as men's women's football is also in the record champion of his country. As far the only Finnish club HJK succeeded in the 1998/99 season of reaching the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

History

The Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi founded in 1907 under the leadership of Fredrik Wathen. Quickly, the team has developed into one of the leading teams in the country and won in 1911 at the fourth staging of his time in the Cup mode, the played state championship title. With the title defense the following year the club became the most successful club before KIF Helsinki with three championships the club in 1916 overtook in a row. HJK took root in the late 1960s in the front table space. With few exceptions, the club was one of the best three teams in the league, but it was not until the 1973 season, before two points clear at Kokkola PV again a championship was won. Women's Soccer

The Women's Department of the HJK are Finnish record champions and trophy winners. Overall, the HJK women have been able to win the championship and twelve times the trophy 22 times. Hockey

Between 1928 and 1972 maintained HJK also a hockey department. 1933-1947, 1948-1955, 1956-1966 and 1970-1973 the team played in the first-class SM- sarja.
