Hesse Cup

The Hessen Cup, the Football Association Cup of the Hessian Football Association (HFV ). It is organized annually for Hessian football clubs in the 3rd league and amateur teams of the underlying leagues. The winner of the Hessen Cup qualifies for the first main round of the DFB Cup.

From 2013/14 season

From the 2013/14 season of Hessen Cup is reformed. This eliminates from 2013/14 the district and regional cup competitions and the Hessen Cup competition will be held on round-trip round a season.

For the first round of the Hessen Cup, the 32 Hessian county cup winners ( more than fifth-tier ) of the preseason, which are divided from a regional perspective in eight pots and compete against each other in the knockout system qualify. The 16 winners of the first round will qualify for the second round of the Hessen Cup. The eight winners of the second round will qualify for the third round or second round.

In the second round of the Hessen Cup encounter added the third and regional league the previous season. The eight winners of the 2nd round and the six professional teams and Regional teams are complemented by the winner of the Association Divisions of fair play rankings and form seven pairings and bye. Then, the winner will be drawn in the quarterfinals and semifinals before the final will be played on neutral ground.

Until 2012/13 season

At the beginning of the season, the regional cup competitions take place in the Hessian football regions for which the county cup winners the previous season are qualified. The regions Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Kassel, Wiesbaden, Fulda and Gießen / Marburg determine the participants of the Regional Cups. Hessian third division automatically qualify for the Hessen Cup.

The Hessen Cup will be played in the knockout system. The first round is usually held in late February and the final in June. According to the rules, the HFV class deeper teams have home advantage, but which can be exchanged. The final will take place on neutral ground. The playoff opponents can agree on to play on the court one of the clubs concerned, however, also.

2013/14 of Hessen Cup will be held for the 69th time. The winner is entitled to start for the first round of the DFB Cup of the 2014 season / 15 campaign.

Qualification

The SV Darmstadt for the knockout stages 98 (3rd League ), Wehen (3rd League ), Kickers Offenbach ( Regionalliga Southwest ), KSV Hessen Kassel ( Regionalliga Southwest ), 1 FC Eschborn (Hessen League ) and FC Bayern Alzenau ( Hesse League ) and the winner of the Association Divisions of SF BG Marburg (Group League Gießen / Marburg ) and the GSV Eintracht Baunatal (Group League Kassel I) qualifies the fair Play ranking.

2013 Hessen Cup will be held for the 68th time. The winner is entitled to start for the first round of the DFB Cup of the Season 2013 / 14th

Qualification

Since the three Hessian third division have a right to start in the main draw, a qualifying match was drawn between the six regional winners Cup, which was held between the group division side SSV Langenaubach and the third division FC Bayern Alzenau on 17 April 2013. 2012 Hessen Cup was held for the 67th time. The winner is entitled to start for the first round of the DFB Cup of the season 2012/13.

Qualification

By the third division rise of SV Darmstadt 98 three Hessian third division were added to the six Regional Cup winners. 2011, the Hesse Cup was held for the 66th time. The winner was allowed to start for the first round of the DFB Cup of the season 2011/12. Since the Wehen landed in the 2010/11 season in the top four in the 3.Liga, allowed the KSV Hessen Kassel, despite final defeat to start the DFB Cup.

Kickers Offenbach won the final against KSV Hessen Kassel 2-1 and is therefore eligible to start for the first round of the DFB Cup of the season 2010/11.

2009 Hessen Cup was held for the 64th time.

Kickers Offenbach won the final against SV Darmstadt 98 1-0 and was thus entitled to start for the first round of the DFB Cup of the season 2009 /10 in Offenbach resigned against Frankfurt with 0:3.

15 of the 16 participants in the Hessen Cup qualified via the Hessian Regional Cups (formerly District cups ). Kickers Offenbach was automatically qualified as the only club.

2008 Hessen Cup was held for the 63rd time.

The biggest surprise succeeded Bernbach in the second round, as the country's division side, who had also descended into the Bezirksoberliga, won in a penalty shoot-out against Hessen Kassel.

The SV Darmstadt 98 won the final against Viktoria Aschaffenburg 2-0 and won for the third time in a row the Hessen Cup and was thus entitled to start for the first round of the DFB Cup of the season 2008 /09.

Qualification

15 of the 16 participants in the Hessen Cup qualified via the Hessian district trophies. Viktoria Aschaffenburg as runners- Oberliga Hessen was qualified as the only club of the league.
