Jakobinenstraße (Nuremberg U-Bahn)

Metro Station Jakobinenstraße (abbreviation: YES ), the 22 Metro Station of the Nuremberg U- Bahn and was opened on 20 March 1982. It is 700 meters from Fürth Train Underground Station and 825 meters from the town boundary Metro Station. Until December 7, 1985, he was the terminus for the U1 and U11. The Jakobinenstraße was named in 1877 by Jacqueline Weigmann, the mother of Fürth landowner.

Location

The station is located in the district of Fürth City Park and extends below the ground in east-west direction under the Gebhardtstraße between Jakobinen and Pickertstraße. From the eastern station head an output executes in a distribution of levels below the intersection Gebhardt / Jakobinenstraße and from there with two ramps and stairs to the surface and to the bus station Jakobinenstraße from the western station head performs an output in a distribution of levels and from there to the Pickertstraße. In addition, there is a lift from the platform level to the eastern distributor basement.

In the vicinity of the station are the Hornschuchpromenade with its historic buildings of the period and the City Park Fürth.

Building and Architecture

The station building is 201 m long, 20 m wide and 13 m deep ( one and a half times the down position). Construction of the station began on July 9, 1979, were carried out in top-down method.

The platform walls are clad in sandstone and will be completed by the folding mat. An architectural innovation was the column-free design of the platform hall. Responsible for this design was Planning Director Theo Kief from Nuremberg's Building Department. On 28 June 2007 it was revealed a mosaic distribution of levels in the western part of the 1000 year anniversary of the city of Fürth. It shows the evolution of the Fürth transport and has been designed and realized by the artist Iris Rauh.

Lines

The station is serviced by the U1 line. Is located on the surface of a bus station with connections to the city bus lines 173 and 174 as well as the OVF lines 111 and 112 runs on the weekend, the night bus N9.
