Jason Kidd

Jason Frederick Kidd ( born March 23, 1973 in San Francisco ) is a retired American professional basketball player and current coach. He played from 1994 to 2013 in the U.S. professional league NBA, most recently at the New York Knicks on the position of the point guards. In 2011 he won his only championship with the Dallas Mavericks. Kidd is second on the list Assist in the league, second on the list of steals and third on the list of transformed three-point throws. In addition, he is the player with the third most triple -double in NBA history.

Career

Early years

Kidd was born as the first of six children. He was raised by his African-American father and Irish-American mother at Oakland Hills and went there on the St. Paschal Baylon - school. He often played on the courts in Oakland, where he also regularly faced the future NBA All-Star Gary Payton.

He later moved to the St. Joseph Notre Dame High School in Alameda, California, and was part of the basketball team. College

Kidd attended the University of California, Berkeley for two years. In his first year, he was 13 points, 7.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 3.8 steals recorded in section. He was elected to the National Freshman of the Year. With his 220 assists and 110 steals he set new school records. Since 2004, Kidd's jersey number 5 will no longer be awarded to the University of California.

Dallas Mavericks (1994-1996)
