Ježov (Pelhřimov District)

Ježov ( German Yezhov ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 20 kilometers north of Pelhřimov and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Ježov is on the left side of the flooded with the drinking water reservoir Švihov Želivkatals on a ridge in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. North of the valley of the creek is Blažejovický, via its confluence with the reservoir, the remains of the castle are Zahrádka. The village is only accessible by road from Hořice. To the south runs the route of the D1 motorway, which crosses the dam at Píšť.

Neighboring towns are SNET in the north, Zahrádka in the northeast, Podivice in the east, and Mesnik Hojanovice the southeast, Vojslavice in the south, southwest, and Blažejovice Vranice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village took place in 1352.

In June 1972, the construction of the highway bridge Píšť began. From 1974 this was the flooding of the valley of Želivka by the dam Švihov, while the spots Zahrádka was dissolved and flooded large parts.
