History

1078 was the first recorded mention of a Raffolt de Jugilbache. Julbach was the center of an aristocratic rule, which was in the hands of the nobles of Julbach, then the counts of show mine before they went to the ducal house of Bavaria. Since then Julbach formed a ducal Pfleggericht and belonged to Rentamt Burghausen the Electorate of Bavaria. 1803 Pfleggericht Julbach was converted to the district court Simbach. 1902 Julbach was elevated to a parish.

Whether the mentioned again and again Raffolt de Jugilbahe actually lived, is highly questionable. Its existence can not prove with a claimed mention in a document of the monastery Ranshofen because this certificate is not obtained. The scholar Wolfgang Lazius was the first who mentioned a Raffolt de Jugilbahe. This untestable hypothesis was received uncritically by later historians and local historians. The first real Julbacher is probably Wernhart I of Julbach ( approx. 1100 -1165 ), a noble suitor who is first mentioned in 1112 in a Ranshofen certificate. The gender Julbach and show mine are the same. The name changes with the sons Heinrich Gebhard and by Stauff and later to show mine. A title of count can be to this generation starting from the year 1313 with Henry III. be cited.

Since 2003, a partnership with the Austrian town of Julbach, located in the Upper Austria.
