Geographical Location
Kirchdorf situated in the vast basin of the Inn about 5 km west of Simbach and 6 miles from Braunau, 25 km east Altöttings, 23 km north-east of Burghausen and 27 km south of the district town parish churches. Kirchdorf am Inn is the southernmost municipality of Lower Bavaria, bordering Upper Bavaria and Upper Austria.

History
Already from pre - and early history are archaeological finds. The district Machendorf was mentioned as Mochundorf first time in the 9th century. Kirchdorf, originally a part of Machendorf 1507 came through the construction of the church to its present name.
The landlords at the site have long been the masters of Seibersdorf, originally called Seifried village, which nachfolgten the Offenheimer. Among them was 1544 Seibersdorf collected by the Duke of Bavaria for Hofmark, and about this time the castle was built in its present form.
1818 was made up of the chairman shaft Kirchdorf and the Hofmarken Ritzing and Seibersdorf the Kirchdorf.

Culture and sights
Structures
- The parish church of the Assumption of Mary is a late Gothic building in 1500, builders exchange H. Berger, Burghausen. 1736 the tower was rebuilt. The imposing high altar of 1689 contains a seated figure of Mary and depictions of saints Barbara and Catherine (c. 1510-20 ), as well as figures of the 17th century.

Sports
The TSC Boogie Lipsticks eV has set itself the goal of promoting the general dance sport in Kirchdorf am Inn and the surrounding area, but especially the boogie -woogie (dance) to revive the 50s and 60s.
The TSV Kirchdorf am Inn and FC Julbach - Kirchdorf offer an extensive range of sporting activities.
