Killem

Killem is a commune of 980 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. It belongs administratively to the Arrondissement Dunkerque and Canton Hondschoote.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Dunkirk, near the Belgian border, in the French countryside Flanders. Neighboring communities of Killem are:

  • Hondschoote the north and east,
  • Oost -Cappel in the southeast,
  • Rexpoëde in the south and
  • Warhem in the West.

On the northwestern edge of the municipality of Bach de Becque Killem runs, on the northeastern boundary of the similar sounding Killem Becque. This leads to the municipal boundary in the de Beque Killem, which eventually reaches the Canal de la Basse Colme between Warhem and Hondschoote.
