Winnezeele

Winnezeele, Dutch Winnezele, is a commune with 1215 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Nord, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. In Winnezeele West Flemish is spoken.

Geography

The municipality is located in Winnezeele French Flanders in the far north of France, about 27 kilometers southeast of Dunkerque and 40 kilometers north-west of Lille. In the east, the municipality borders on Belgium (municipality Poperinge ). The mostly flat area of ​​the municipality is of some streams flowing through it ( Herzeele, Sale Becque, Ey Becque ), all of which drain into the north to the Yser.

In addition to the closed settlement pattern of the village core are in the municipality of Winnezeele the districts Droogland, Le Pont des Planches and Les Six Chemins as well as numerous scattered individual farms.
