Klinikum (Nuremberg U-Bahn)

Metro Station Fuerth Hospital ( Abbreviation: KF) was opened as a 40 Metro Station of the Nuremberg U- Bahn on 4 December 2004. It is 910 meters from Fürth Hardhöhe Metro Station and 957 meters from metro station Fürth Stadthalle. By 8 December 2007, he was the terminus for the line U1. According to earlier plans of the station as the local train stop Fuerth Unterfarrnbach meant, meanwhile, is vice versa, rename this breakpoint in the wake of the S -Bahn -Bau in Fuerth Hospital.

Location and infrastructure

The station is located in the district of Fürth Schwandstrasse / Private Home and extends below the ground north of the Würzburg road between Friedrich- Ebert-Straße and the railway line Nuremberg -Bamberg. From the western end of the platform, an output, and an elevator leading directly to the surface to Karmelitenplatz, the eastern stairs leads to a distribution of levels from under the Friedrich- Ebert-Straße and from there with three wells to the surface. At the railway station, long toward water followed by a double track change.

In the immediate vicinity of the station is the Fürth Hospital.

Building and Architecture

The station building, for which construction began on 20 June 2000, is 140 m long. Difficulties were the Christ the King Church, which is located right above the train station. In order not to damage them during the construction, a 60 m long pipe roof of 18 steel tubes was drafted between the building and the railway station building, in whose protection the pit was dug, the remaining part of the train station was created in an open design.

The design of the station was developed by the Georg- Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences, Department of Design, as part of a design project. The design was by Hartmut Victor Brüchert and was realized together with the professors Ethelbert Hörmann and Ortwin Michl. The theme of the station is adapted to the surrounding buildings ( hospital, nursery and nursing home ) and is " building blocks of life ": the entire building is decorated in bright colors and is dominated by concrete, steel and glass. On the platform walls replicas of human DNA are attached.

Lines

The station is serviced by the U1 line. A bus station is located ( West Hospital and Hospital East ) on which keep the city bus lines 171, 172, and 175 as well as the OVF lines 125 and 126 on the surface. The weekend also runs Night bus N9. West of the station is the DB - breakpoint Fürth- Unterfarrnbach, can be switched to the S-Bahn line S1.
