Kundratice (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Kundratice ( German Kundratitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers north east of Velké Meziříčí and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Kundratice is located in the belonging to the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands Highlands Křižanovská ( Krischanauer Bergland ). The village is situated on the upper reaches of the creek Libochovka, also referred to as Libochůvka and is surrounded by numerous ponds. To the northwest, the Spaleny rises Kopec ( 595 m) and in the southwest of Vinohrádek (560 m).

Neighboring towns are Horni Hliny and Dolni Hliny in the north, Horni Libochová in the northeast, Bojanovský in the east, Kadolec in the south, Křižanov the southwest, Dobra Voda and Jívoví in the west and Jakubovský Dvůr in the northwest,

History

The first mention of Cunraczicz was in 1358, the village of his wife signed over as Vznata of Křižanov as dowry. Around 1690 an iron hammer and furnace was built on the Lower Mill, which was operated until the 18th century. After the abolition of patrimonial Kundratice formed in 1850 a district of the market town in the district Krizanov Velké Meziříčí. Since 1880, the community is Kundratice. In the village there were three water mills, two board saw a forge and a brickyard. In the first half of the 20th century, the production of nacre was. With the beginning of 1961 the Okres Velké Meziříčí was disbanded and assigned to the municipality the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.
