Sulkovec

Sulkovec ( German Sulkowetz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers southwest of Bystré and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Sulkovec located in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands at the foot of the hill Šubrtův Kopec ( 746 m) and Kočího Kopec ( 756 m) in the headwaters of streams Hrabovec and Nyklovský creek. The Moravian village is located south of the historic border between Moravia and Bohemia. Southeast of the Horni les (Upper Forest, 774 m) rises.

Neighboring towns are Nedvězí in the north, and Bystré Hartmanice in the northeast, Nyklovice in the east, and Dudkovice Rovečné the southeast, Polom in the south, Veseli in the southwest, Ubušínek in the west and Nedvězíčko in the northwest.

History

The village was created in the course of the colonization of the border forests between Moravia and Bohemia. Since the 14th century it belonged to the castle Skály. First mentioned was the place in the year 1459th In 1462 Sulkovec came to power Pernštejna. After the men of the village had Pernštejna 1590 sold together with eleven other villages in the area, Sulkovec has been connected to the rule Kunstadt to which it belonged until 1848. During the Thirty Years' War, the village was in 1645 set by the Swedes completely in ruins. The first school building was erected in 1720 as a simple timber.

After the abolition of patrimonial Sulkovec formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Boskovice. In 1949 the congregation to Okres Bystřice nad Pernštejnem. Polom was incorporated in 1961 and assigned to the municipality the Okres Zdar nad Sázavou. In 1964 still Ubušínek add a district. In 1968 Sulkovec was one of the locations for the film Všichni Dobri rodáci ( All Good Countrymen ) Vojtěch jasny. Ubušínek broke up in 1990 go again. The school was closed in Sulkovec 2002.

The municipality consists of the villages Sulkovec Polom and Sulkovec ( Sulkowetz ).
