Radkov (Žďár nad Sázavou District)

Radkov ( German Ratkow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers north-east of Velké Meziříčí and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Radkov located in the belonging to the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands Highlands Křižanovská ( Krischanauer Bergland ) in the valley of the brook Radkovský creek. The place is surrounded by numerous ponds, one of which nohavice and Kuchyň are the greatest. To the west rises the Kuchyň ( Kuchelberg, 557 m), in the east, the forest area Černý les extends.

Neighboring towns are Moravec in the north, and Radkovičky Jehnice in the northeast, Nový Dvůr and Krčma in the east, and Meziboří Dolni Libochová the southeast, Horni Libochová in the south, Dolni Hliny and Horni Hliny the southwest, Radenice in the west and Pikarec in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village and festivities Radkov place in the year 1368. 1406 bought the Stankov Olešnice Radkov and slew the goods to the rule Moravec.
