Lak Si District

Lak Si ( Thai: หลักสี่ ) is one of the 50 districts (Khet ) of Bangkok, capital of Thailand.

Geography

The neighboring districts are from clockwise from the north: Don Mueang, Bang Khen and Chatuchak in Bangkok, Amphoe Mueang and and Pak Kret, Nonthaburi Province.

History

The name means Lak Si fourth milestone. The area here was Lak Si called because it was the fourth milestone in the construction of the Khlong Prem Prachakhon ( คลอง เปรม ประชากร ), which was dug in the reign of King Chulalongkorn ( Rama V ) to connect with Bangkok Bang Pa -in. Lak Si was appointed on 14 October 1997 Khet, when it was separated from the district of Don Mueang.

Science
