Long marrow Poelkapelle is a municipality of the arrondissements of Ypres in the Belgian province of West Flanders.
The municipality was created in 1977 from the former municipalities Bikschote, Mark Long (now the capital ) and Poelkapelle formed.
Community structure
The 7981 inhabitants ( 1 January 2012) scoring municipality covers five districts. These are the three former municipalities and the villages belonging to Mark Lange Madonna and Sint- Juliaan. The following table gives the area and population of the boroughs for 1999. The numbers correspond to those of the map to the right; built-up areas in yellow.
History
Mark Lange was the eponymous site of a battle of the First World War, which established the myth of Langemarck. The battle itself took place in the area of today's hamlet Bikschote and the district Noordschote the adjacent city of Lo -Reninge ( on the upper map: e, left) instead.
