Long marrow Poelkapelle is a municipality of the arrondissements of Ypres in the Belgian province of West Flanders.

The municipality was created in 1977 from the former municipalities Bikschote, Mark Long (now the capital ) and Poelkapelle formed.

Community structure

The 7981 inhabitants ( 1 January 2012) scoring municipality covers five districts. These are the three former municipalities and the villages belonging to Mark Lange Madonna and Sint- Juliaan. History

Mark Lange was the eponymous site of a battle of the First World War, which established the myth of Langemarck. The battle itself took place in the area of ​​today's hamlet Bikschote and the district Noordschote the adjacent city of Lo -Reninge ( on the upper map: e, left) instead.
