Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade

Le Puy -Sainte- Réparade is a commune with 5338 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône Provence -Alpes- Côte d' Azur region.

Geography

The municipality is located seventeen kilometers north of Aix -en- Provence. Le Puy -Sainte- Réparade is part of the Communauté d' agglomération du Pays d' Aix. The place is situated on the Durance. The neighboring municipalities of Le Puy -Sainte- Réparade are Villaure in the north, Pertuis in the northeast, Meyrargues in the east, in the southeast Venelles, Aix -en- Provence in the south and Rognes and Saint- Esteve - Janson in the West.

History

The name part Sainte- Réparade probably dates back to the Holy Reparata, went over their relics in the 11th century in the possession of the local church. On the hill Le Puech, on what was once the Celtic oppidum La Quille was, a castle was built in the 10th century. This hill is responsible for part of the name Le Puy. In the 11th century it came into the hands of the Archbishops of Aix -en- Provence. Therefore, this also men of the place were.
