Litohošť

Litohošť ( German Litohoscht ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers west of Pelhřimov and belongs to Okres Pelhřimov.

Geography

Litohošť located at the foot of the hill Kobyla ( 592 m) at a right tributary of the Bořetický creek in the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands. To the west rises the Čihadlo (616 m).

Neighboring towns are Přáslavice and Útěchovičky in the north, Bitětice in the northeast, Pejškov in the east, in the southeast Čížkov, Leskovice in the south, Nesvačily the southwest, Proseč in the west and Pošná and Zahrádka in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Litohostův dvůr took place in 1558. It is believed that the place existed before the Hussite wars and belonged to the rule Řečice. Owners were up in the second half of the 16th century, the lords of Leskovec, who had acquired large parts thereof, in the division of Řečicer rule.

After the replacement of patrimonial Litohošť in 1850 into an independent municipality of the district Leskovice. 1920 Leskovice broke off and became independent. 1964 Útěchovičky was incorporated. In 1980 Litohošť was incorporated into Útěchovice and slammed with this community in 1989 Hořepník. After the Velvet Revolution Litohošť became independent again.
