Geography

Geographical location

Lübbow is located in the Natural Park of the Elbe Valley. The municipality is part of the velvet municipality Lüchow at (Wendland), which has its headquarters in the city Lüchow ( Wendland).

History

Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the municipalities Dangenstorf and Rebenstorf were incorporated.

Policy

The municipality belongs to the Lübbow parliament constituency 48 Elbe and the Bundestag constituency 38 Lüchow -Dannenberg - Lüneburg.

Parish council

The municipal council of Lübbow consists of nine Council women and councilors.

Church

In the community Luckau there is the Evangelical Lutheran church Rebenstorf, which also includes the chapel in Luckau. The parish has a joint parish with the parishes and Lemgow Boesel, whose seat is in Schweskau in Lemgow.

The Protestant Chapel St. James is a small stone building, possibly dating from the 13th century. The westernmost round-arched entrance wearing a Backsteinrahmung. The east wall is constructed in timber.

Others

In the gravel pits of Lübbow several thousand flint artifacts were found in the years between 1979 and 1985 that created 200 years ago, 000 of the early Neanderthal. The tools from Baltic flint (Flint) were deposited in the Vorschüttkiesen the Saale glaciation, so must have been produced before the glacial ( through the glacier -related ) embankment of gravel and sand. Today the public traditional collection comes mainly from volunteer local historian Hermann Leunig, supported by Mr. Wilcken drought. The collection was established in 1987 the National Museum Hannover is.
