Mae Wong National Park

The National Park Mae Wong ( Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ แม่ วงก์ ) is a national park in the provinces ( Changwat ) Kamphaeng Phet and Nakhon Sawan in Northern Thailand.

History

Originally lived members of the hill tribes of Thailand, including Hmong, Yao and Karen.

On September 14, 1987, the area was declared the 55th National Park of the country.

Geography

Location

The center of the National Park Mae Wong is located southwest of the city of Kamphaeng Phet about 350 kilometers north of Bangkok. The area stretches 60 kilometers along the highway 1117th The National Park covers an area of approximately 894 square kilometers.

Topography

Climate

Fauna and Flora

The mountains are covered with mixed forest, and evergreen rain forest is found on the slopes. The main species are Tectona grandis, Pterocarpus macrocarpus and Xylia kerrii.

In the forests, among others, civets, and wild tigers live. Again, observe more than 450 species of birds.

Attractions

In the area of the national park are some interesting waterfalls:

Dam
