Mike Komisarek
Michael " Mike" Komisarek ( born January 19, 1982 in West Islip, Long Iceland, New York ) is an American professional ice hockey player of Polish descent who stands since July 2013 when the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League contract.
Career
Komisareks Roman father emigrated at the age of 24 years from Poland to the United States, where he first ran a garage on Long Iceland and his wife caught up later.
Being born in the United States son Mike first played in various junior leagues before he was admitted to the funding of the U.S. Ice Hockey Federation USA Hockey. During his college years played the 1.93 m tall defender for the University of Michigan in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, a league game in the operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. NHL Entry Draft 2001 Komisarek was finally selected as the seventh in the first round by the Canadiens de Montréal.
First, the right-handed shooter shuttled between the Canadiens and their farm team, the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League, after the lockout in the 2004/05 season Komisarek finally made the jump to the root cadres of the Montreal Canadiens. Only after 123 career games scoring the defender on 20 March 2006 against the Washington Capitals his first NHL goal.
In July 2013 his contract by the Toronto Maple Leafs was paid early (buy out). A few days later, he signed a one year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.
