Mikhail Grabovski

Mikhail Yuryevich Hrabouski (White Russian Міхаіл Юревіч Грабоўскі; Russian Михаил Юрьевич Грабовский, English transcription: Mikhail Yuryevich Grabovski, born January 31, 1984 in Potsdam, East Germany ) is a Belarusian ice hockey player, who since August 2013 in the Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League contract stands.

Career

Hrabouski initially played for the HK Junost Minsk and moved in 2003 to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk in the Russian Super League. There, the franchises of the National Hockey League have been aware of him and he was pulled in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the fifth round of the 150th point of the Montreal Canadiens. For the season 2005/ 06 he moved within Russia to HK Dynamo Moscow. With this he won in January 2006, the IIHF European Champions Cup and made with strong performances in the tournament once again attracted attention.

The 2006/07 season began the Center for the Hamilton Bulldogs, the Canadiens farm team of the American Hockey League. In January 2007, he was first appointed to the cadre of the Canadiens and debuted on January 6 against the New York Rangers in the NHL, but only came to a total of three missions. He returned to the Bulldogs back in the AHL and won with them in June the Calder Cup. The following season commuted Hrabouski, the now his countrymen Andrei and Syarhey Kaszizyn were placed side by side between the NHL and AHL squads. In the summer of 2008, he was finally transferred to the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he made the final breakthrough in the NHL under head coach Ron Wilson. This brought him in 2009 the first-time award to Belarus player of the year.

In July 2013 his contract by the Toronto Maple Leafs was paid early (buy out). Following this, he joined in August 2013 the Washington Capitals at by there signed a one -year contract.

Internationally

For the 2005 World Championships in Austria, he was appointed to the Belarusian national ice hockey team. He scored four goals in a game against the host Austria. The year before, he had been a 20 -year-old already instrumental in the rise of teams in the top division.
